Mrs. Hinchen got a chance to celebrate our Read with Me Volunteers on Friday, February 15, 2019. Mrs. Renne Heller was the Volunteer of the Year for John Kelley, and we would like to extend a huge thank you to her for all she does. Our volunteers do a wonderful job providing reading support to our students. We are so thankful to have these amazing people be a part of our team.
On Friday, February 8th JK students had the opportunity to purchase goodies (pencils, erasers, stickers, etc.) from our Blazer Student Store using their Blazer Bucks! Students can earn Blazer Bucks by having good attendance, positive behavior, completing their homework, and meeting other school expectations. We want to thank our PTO committee for all of their support!
The Elk's Lodge has graciously donated PE Equipment to our school. We had a few volunteers come to get the equipment ready for distribution. We thank Mr. Daily for all his support of our school. We will be celebrating their donation at our Read Across America event on March 1st.
Our writing PD was a success, teachers got a refresher on Name it, Verb it, Finish it as a great strategy to use when writing topic sentences. Teachers got to practice writing some on their own and then made some anchor charts to take back to their classroom.
Mrs. Tara Hinchen came on board as the interim Principal at John Kelley School. She is excited to join the Blazer Family!
