Week of March 4-8, 2019

On March 1 we celebrated Read Across America and the Elk’s Lodge for their generous donation of PE equipment to our school.  We had many guest readers and students and staff also got to try out some of the new equipment. Our assembly included talks by students, a visit from the Cat in the Hat (former John Kelley Principal Frank Encinias) and performances by our ASES students.  We had an amazing time, and would like to thank Dr. Paredes, Dr. Houpt, Mrs. Rodriguez and other community members for coming to read to the students! It was an amazing day!

March 4- Our Positive Parenting Classes continued and parents learned a lot of valuable information.

March 5-

  • Mr. Rosas attended the Transformational Learning Technical support day to aid us in implementation

  • 6th grade students attended the “Speak Up Be Safe” assembly and learned information that will help them be safe.

  • Mrs. Hinchen attended the ACSA Region XIX Professional Development Event which was very informative and a lot of information was given on how to provide open doors for students when it comes to equity and equality for all.
